HRH Prince Edward Duke of Kent took the salute as the first battalion of The Rifles exercised their freedom to march through Chepstow.
Over the last 16 months the battalion has been in Iraq, Kazakhstan and Uganda and the parade marked their return home to Benchley Barracks.
The prince also presented special awards to members of the battalion.
Some 200 Riflemen marched twice along High Street and Bank Street headed by the Band of The Rifles.
