Four wickets for Allen as Redmarley shine

OPENER Craig Rich scored an unbeaten 79 – but still ended up on the losing side.

Only two of his Cinderford team-mates – Haydn Hilton and William Mason-Camp – made it into double figures.

Nigel Allen did the most damage with the ball, taking 4-38 including dismissing tail-ender Chris Williams caught and bowled.

Harry Radley, who finished with figures of 2-22, made the initial breakthrough having Reece Bowkett caught by Bill Lawrence with the home side on 22.

It was soon 42-4 although Hilton’s 19 steadied things for St John’s until he went, caught by Radley off the bowling of Sam Lane with the score

on 88.

Daniel Kibble followed, caught by Mike Hemmings off the bowling of Allen with Cinderford on 92.

Noel Francis helped the score along to

124-7, contributing seven runs before being bowled by Allen while Mason-Camp scored 10 before being caught by Sam Lane off Allen having moved the total on to 142.

Top scorer for the visitors was Paul Newbery who was unbeaten on 45, with Timothy Hayward contributing 40 before being caught by Nathan Francis off the bowling of Mason-Camp.

Opener Mike Hemmings went for 15, bowled by Sam Baker while Bill Lawrence was bowled by Reece Bowkett after posting 23. James Knight was on eight not out when the target was reached.
