Music festival appeals for volunteer helpers

By Mark Elson in Local People

THE annual Coleford Music Festival is set take over the town centre and organisers are appealing for volunteers to help the July 22 to 23 weekend event go with a swing.

Festival co-organiser and town mayor Nick Penny said: "We are looking for volunteers to help across both days, with a briefing evening on Monday, July 17, at 7pm at the town council offices opposite the Co-op store, to allocate shifts and to go through the details.

"The volunteer roles are varied and tasks will include manning road closures, helping with setting up and stripping down elements of the festival, shaking a collection bucket and keeping the streets clean.

“The festival is only possible through the support of local people, either through personal donations, corporate sponsorship, equipment supply, or simply by giving a few hours of their time to help at the festival."

Anyone who can help should register an interest by contacting Cllr Penny on 07801 650977 or emailing
