CHEPSTOW'S all-conquering Under 11 Colts are looking the part on the pitch with a brand new kit courtesy of sponsors Sticky Change.
And the successful squad has already proved they have the substance to back up their stylish new blue and white shirts after claiming three trophies in the last year.
The team swept all before them in six-a-side tournaments on both sides of the Severn with wins in Mitcheldean, Bristol and Stonehouse.
And although there is no league table at this age group they have continued their impressive form this season.
The side is run by coaches Julian Smith and Paul Heal. And Julian says the generous donation to pay for the new kit has been vital in keeping costs down for the players and continuing the club's inclusive ethos.
He said: "The subs for the year is £60 and I know of other clubs where the boys have to pay £200. It is really important to us to keep the costs to a minimum. We do a lot of self fund-raising with raffles and things but it would have been very hard to find £700 for a new kit without passing on some of the costs to the boys. We are very grateful to Sticky Change."
The U11 Colts currently play in an 8-a-side league but will be changing to full 11-a-side from next season. They are one of two U11 teams at Chepstow along with the Bears who amalgamated with the club last year having previously been based in Bulwark.
Both sides train throughout the winter on the Astroturf at Chepstow Leisure Centre. The Bears are currently looking for players. If your child is interested in joining please contact Julian by email: [email protected]">[email protected]
