POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a suspected arson attack at a farm on Boxing Day afternoon.

Forest officers were called by Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue at around 4.10pm on Wednesday, December 26, following reports that two small rubbish fires had been spotted inside a barn at Crumps Farm on Naas Lane, Lydney.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said it was thought that several dog walkers were in the area at the time as well as a group of youths.

Police are also probing a “malicious” hay bale fire beside Huntsham Bridge near Goodrich last Friday evening (December 28).

Anyone who was in Lydney at the time of the barn blaze or who has any information that may help police with their enquiries is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 182 of 26 December.
