A NEW breakfast club for current and former members of the armed forces will be launched in Lydney this weekend.

The Chepstow and Lydney Veterans’ Breakfast Club will be held at the Lydney British Legion at 3 Hill Street on the first Saturday each month starting this weekend (December 3).

Group spokesman Ray Taylor said: “We are a group of veterans and   serving members of Her Majesty’s armed forces and, like other veterans’ breakfast clubs around the country and overseas our ethos is mutual support.

“It works because we all have a similar humour and outlook, the social life we enjoy together is like our service days.

“Our club activities include dinners or other planned events and where personal support is always on hand for those who need it.”
