I AM from Chepstow and currently living in Uganda and working as a volunteer with M-LISADA, a charity in Kampala, Uganda (http://www.m-lisada.org">www.m-lisada.org)a transformation centre and orphanage for up to 150 street children.
Many children end up on the streets of the capital due to poverty, abuse or death of parents due to HIV/AIDs.
Rescued children, from the age of seven upwards, are taught to play a musical instrument and given an education. A number of ex-street youth have subsequently gone on to be employed by brass bands throughout Uganda.
I am currently home in Chepstow for a month and wanted to ask if any Forest of Dean and Wye Valley Review readers would like to donate unwanted musical instruments (brass, wind etc), music sheets, children's clothes (age 7-16), shoes or stationery.
If so, items will be gratefully received up until August 5 when I will return to Uganda.
Please contact me on 0756 5582969 – Michelle Moffat, Normandy Way, Chepstow.
