LYDNEY's Becky Preest boxed her way through to the semi-finals of the women's amateur boxing championships on Sunday.

She beat Portsmouth ABC's Helen Tamlin by an incredible 19 pts to 2pts in the under-63.5kg class, moving well on her feet and catching Tamilim with nice straight shots.

Becky, 25, now boxes on December 18 at Manchester Sports Centre.

Other Lydney boxers fared well at weekend in Portland. Ishalluh Kaker beat Tom Jarvis of Portland ABC, and Cory Jones had a very narrow desition against Barnstaple's Jordan Thomas.
