CLIVE Lilley of Viney Hill says the tip of his finger was bitten off by a ‘rogue’ boar.
Mr Lilley was walking his dog near his home at around 7.30am last Wednesday when the animal appeared from the undergrowth and attacked him.
He said: “I was just walking along – my dog wasn’t anywhere – and this boar came out, bit my finger and was off.
“I’ve seen hundreds of boar and I’m quite a fan, but people need to know that they can be dangerous.”
Mr Lilley needed hospital treatment after later finding the tip of his left index finger in his glove.
He said he had reported the incident to the Forestry Commission who had said it was probably a rogue animal.
