IT is with great interest I read that our new Government is going to correct all the mistakes of the previous one, who in my mind continually let everyone down.
Having spent all my working life in transport I know first hand that no help or encouragement has been forthcoming in supporting this industry. In fact it appears that the only help has been
directed to foreign companies.
It is very annoying that the powers-that-be who are in charge of hard working taxpayers' money don't encourage all state run services such as the MOD, police, fire service, ambulance, VOSA to buy British manufactured vehicles such as MG Rover, Range Rover, Jaguar, Leyland, DAF, ERF, LDV and Ford Transit when ever possible.
I am sure that the workers of British manufacturers would agree. From
my observations similar things happen in other industries.
I just hope this Government will not let the road transport industry down as the previous ones have. – James Matthews, 'J Matthews Haulage', Dean Forest Park, Woodland Road, Christchurch.
