FLOWER displays in Cinderford town centre were vandalised overnight on Monday (July 9).

The troughs attached to railings on the Triangle in Cinderford were upended, spilling the flowers in them onto the pavement below, although quick action by the town council saw the displays restored by mid-morning on Tuesday (July 10).

Town councillor Mark Turner posted a video of the damage to his Facebook account and a spokesperson for Cinderford Town Council said: “Five or six troughs were rolled around the bars and all the plants were tipped out. The planters have already been replanted. It must have happened overnight.”

Town resident Claire Warren said on social media: “Absolutely disgusting. A lot of work goes into keeping the flowers in the town nice,” while former resident, Hayley Holford, said: “I hope they are caught on CCTV and made to pay.”
