A Lydney teenager has been bailed to await sentence after he admitted burgling a Cinderford flat and threatening an occupant with a knife.

Benjamin Wood, 18, of Springfield Road, Lydney, will learn his fate on 19th October when Cheltenham Magistrates have considered a pre-sentence report on him.

He pleaded guilty at a hearing last Thursday, Sept 17, to burgling a flat in High Street, Cinderford on 23rd January 2025 and stealing a black jacket and a pair of Nike trainers.

He also admitted that in the flat on the same date he threatened a man with a knife 'in such a way that there was immediate risk of serious physical harm to that person.'

And he further pleaded guilty to possession of the fixed blade knife in a private place, namely the same Cinderford flat.

Wood was granted conditional bail while the pre-sentence report is being prepared. The magistrates warned that when he returns for sentence on 19th October all sentencing options will remain open to them.
