THREE Chepstow women were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance at the Battle of the DJs at Magnums in Coleford on Friday.

The two 18 year-olds and 19 year-old are believed to have had ketamine with them. They have been bailed to return to Gloucester Police Station on June 15 pending further enquiries.

Organiser and DJ Maximus-T said: "The event was slightly marred by some irresponsible people thinking they could disrespect the event with drugs.

"However the excellent security at the Angel and the reputation of the organisers ensured that these people were dealt with.

"The organisers the Angel, Tranzfixation and Switched On will not under any circumstances tolerate drug use.

"As soon as the proprieters were told, they informed the police and the people were arrested.

"We do not condone that sort of behaviour and would like to stress that drugs are not welcome at our events."

The battle was won by the only female competitor, DJ Folio and Original Dubbah came second for the second year running.

17 young DJs battled for the right to win a presentation from the 'Queen of Hard Dance'.

Organisers commended Leeroy, Peebs, Westy, Jitaabug, Lozzie, Syrus and Citix for their performances.
