A NEW electric car charging facility near Chepstow has been officially opened.

Located on the car park of Hanley Farm Shop and Business Centre, at Tidenham, the installation is a joint initiative with Gloucestershire County Council and was recently officially opened by District and County Councillor, Graham Morgan.

Cllr Morgan (Lab, Cinderford West), said: “I’m pleased to have been able to open this new electric car charging point at Hanley Farm Shop and Hanley Court Business Centre and is the first superfast charging point in the Forest.

“It’s great news for the local community and will increase accessibility around this picturesque part of the world.”

“The electric car charger will be a fantastic boost to tourism as well as give locals the opportunity to charge their vehicles,” said Lyndon Edwards, owner of Hanley Farm. “It will make the entire Forest of Dean and Wye Valley area easily accessible to the ever-growing number of eco-tourists who drive electric cars. Not only will they be able to get here they will now also be able to charge up and get home too.”
