I REFER to the letter 'Support our cinema' (Review, 19 March).
Enjoy film? Enjoy non mainstream? Dean Film Club could be what you are looking for. The DFC was started for just this reason, for cinema lovers who want to be able to see films locally, other than the blockbusters.
The writer may like to know the Forest of Dean Film Club has been meeting on the final Monday of each month at The Palace Cinema, Cinderford for about a year. During that time we have screened a wide range of films from La Vie En Rose to On The Black Mountain and from Let The Right One In to Happy Go Lucky.
Our programme continues on Monday March 29 with Moon and will be followed on April 26 by This Sporting Life and in May by Fish Tank. The date for this has yet to finalised because of the Bank Holiday.
While the club is non fee-paying we pay the normal cost of the seats at The Palace and concessions are available. Everyone is invited to come along and there are free refreshments from 7.30pm before each showing at 8pm.
