SADLY it’s now the time of year that idiot drivers seem to want us all to know they have fog lights on their vehicles.

They seem to think that purely because its dark they should be on.

It makes them look stupid, it’s dangerous as their brightness cannot be dipped, they reflect off wet roads, they don’t do anything to help the driver see further at night and if it’s not foggy they are illegal.

The clue for intelligent drivers seems to be in the name.

It’s the same for rear fog lights, quite often brake lights cannot be seen especially in the wet.

Please keep them off unless it’s, er, foggy.
