ECO-WARRIORS at Taurus Crafts have launched a campaign to get more people in the Forest recycling aluminum tin foil.
Taurus Crafts are taking over the collection of foil from the Fairtide Centre in Lydney, which was set up 13 years ago, but due to the lack of resources have handed over the project.
However, Taurus Crafts will continue to provide employment opportunities to adults with learning difficulties.
Ingo Kresse at Taurus Crafts has helped start the new recycling project. She said: "Taurus Crafts will not only provide people with learning difficulties with real work experience but it will also mean they can play a valued role in providing a service within their community, everyone in the group loves being part of the recycling team."
They have teamed up with the council and The Aluminum Packaging Recycling Organisation to encourage more people to recycle tin foil.
Marsha Llewellyn, from the Gloucestershire's Joint Waste Management Unit, said: "We know residents value their recycling services and we are delighted that Taurus Crafts has been able to take over the foil collection in the district. We would also like to thank the Fairtide Centre for their dedication over the past decade and for making this service a success.
"To help with the sorting process, foil should ideally be cleaned before being taken to one of the eight recycling sites in the Forest."
