THE CURTAIN is about to go up on the longest-running panto in the Forest.

The Wesley Players are in their 64th year of producing pantos in Cinderford.

This year’s show, Mother Goose, opens on Friday for the first of three weekends.

The show is directed by Lynn Teague and Louise Bullen, with Lynn adapting a script by Elsie Olivey. 

The chorus of villagers, footmen and fairies were trained by Louise, Lynn and Kim Owston.

And the producction is accompanied by Christine Morgan on piano.

Lynn Teague also stars as Mother Twitchett who lives an impoverished life with her daughters played by Kim and Louise.

The show also features Jonathan Kyte as Squire Murgatroyde, Izzy Johnson as his daughter Jill who may eventually marry Prince Colin played by Lauren Hall.

Grace Melia is Priscilla, the goose that lays the golden eggs, who is accompanied by the Good Fairy (Lilly Ball).

Lily also plays the Snow Queen and Lily Gardiner is the wicked fairy Thunderbelle,

The show also features Tania Sudelin, Hannah Melia and Lorraine Symonds as the Brokers’ Men Pip, Squeak, and Wilfred.

Mother Goose is at the Miners’ Hal in Cinderford on January 10 and 11, 17 and 18, and 24 and 25.
