FOUR Lakers School students are taking the county and South West cross country championships by storm and there is a chance of competing for England.

Kyran Haile, 15, from Joys Green is leading the pack after winning the under 17s cross country county championships held in Tewkesbury last month. He'll now compete in the South West and English Schools championships where the top eight compete for England.

James Piercy from Coalway, who competed in the same event, came second in the u13s. Connor Creed, 13, from Broadwell, who has previous form had to pull out of the Tewkesbury races, but along with the others is due to compete in Cardiff. Sadie Melhuish, 13, from Berry Hill, triumphed with a first in the u15s girls.
