KEEP your fingers crossed for talented local singer Peter Sladen this week as he attempts to win a national competition being held in a North Wales holiday camp.

Peter, aged 39, of Ash Close, Lydney, will be belting out his favourite Joe Cocker number in Pwllheli.

It will be his third appearance in national finals all of which have followed successes in competitions held in other holiday villages. This year he won an event at St Austell Bay, Cornwall.

Peter, who works at Xerox, Mitcheldean, will have his wife Jayne, daughters Joanne (12), Charlotte (10) and son Sean (7), cheering him on.

"It's all a bit of fun really. I enjoy singing and it has won us a holiday or two so we are very pleased," he said.
