A POLICE helicopter, a drone and police officers have been searching land beside a holiday park today.

Mystery surrounds exactly what they are looking for next to Valley View Holiday Park and Cottages near Blakeney, with Gloucestershire Police saying it related to the welfare of an individual, but refusing to reveal whether it involved a missing person.

A force spokesperson said: "This is an ongoing concern for welfare incident and we will not be providing any further information for the privacy of the person involved."

The helicopter spent nearly an hour circling the farmland off the A48 before it was replaced by the drone around midday.

Three police cars and an ambulance attended the scene, and officers and paramedics could be seen at the back of the campsite looking across the fields.
