A CHARITY fundraiser to support the Syrian refugees will be held next Tuesday (October 13).

Eileen O’Haire and friends are meeting at The Main Place in Coleford at 7pm where there will be a ‘pot luck supper’.

She said: “Like many people in the Forest, I have been moved to try and help the refugees from the Syrian war. Myself and a few friends decided to hold a fundraising event to raise money for GARAS (Gloucestershire Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers) and for the aid charities in the front line camps bordering the war zones.

“The evening will be a chance for people to talk to each other and find out what’s being organised in the Forest to help refugees. Adele Owen, the director of GARAS, will be there with some good suggestions of practical support that we can all give.

“People need to bring a dish, sweet or savoury.”
