HUNDREDS of people across the Forest and Wye Valley joined in the fun to raise money for Sport Relief – but there can be few who chose such a novel way to complete the sponsored mile than Helen Lodge and David Grist.
The pair from Chepstow took to 1970s-style space hoppers for the mile at the Old Station in Tintern.
They were among 140 people who joined the mile at the popular visitor destination on Sunday morning.
Primrose Hill Church of England Academy in Lydney welcomed Paralympics triathlon hopeful Andy Lewis to their event on Friday afternoon.
Before blowing the whistle to start the sponsored walk, Andy spoke to the children about believing in themselves and achieving their dreams.
The Lydney athlete is currently ranked fifth in the world and is hopeful of an automatic place in the Rio Paralympics later this year.
The school has raised more than £200 for Sport Relief.
Staff at United Healthcare at the Vantage Point Business Village, in Mitcheldean, walked a total more than 64 miles without leaving the building.
They used a treadmill at the Relentless Gym to walk the equivalent of Mitcheldean to Bridgend on Friday.
There was also a cycle race on a games console and a competition to guess how many sweets were in a jar.
The company has so far raised more than £600.
