SIX members of staff at the Co-op in Cinderford are celebrating after receiving long service awards for a combined total of 120 years with the supermarket.

Among those recognised was Sarah Hudson who has worked at the store for 20 years.

The store was one of six food stores in the county where staff had completed 235 years of combined service.

As well as awards, staff also received food vouchers and flowers.

Phil Ponsonby, group general manager at The Midcounties Co-operative, said: “I would like to congratulate the committed colleagues in Gloucestershire who have been celebrating their own personal milestones, and thank them for 235 years of combined service.

“Recognising the hard work of our colleagues is very important to us and we aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment to make sure that all colleagues can continue to enjoy working in our society.”
