SUPERHEROES swooped into a supermarket to help a young daredevil and his mum raise nearly £350 towards a 10,000ft tandem charity skydive.

Steven Mortimer, 22, from Viney Hill, suffered a life-changing accident in Australia as a nine-year-old which left him with brain injuries.

But on July 26, he and his mother Anita Mortimer, plus brother Matthew, 16, will leap from a plane in Salisbury to raise funds for brain injury charity Headway, disability support group National Star and the Chamwell Centre in Gloucester.

The superheroes collection at Tesco in Lydney last Saturday (April 21) boosted the skydive fundraising to nearly £2,000, with a further collection lined up at the town’s Co-op on May 12.
