TWO local financial women wizards are putting their bottoms on the line to take part in a charity cycle ride from London to Paris to raise funds for children's hospices.

Lisa Laughton of newly formed Venus Financial Planning based in Lydney will be joined by her business partner, Jane Newman, in the 200 mile trek.

"We're expecting to be rather sore by the end," says Lisa, who's based in Lydney. "I also ruptured by achilles tendon in 2008, so it will be somewhat of a triumph over adversity when I make it to the finish line – which I am determined to do."

The two women, who specialise in financial advice, mortgages and pensions targetted at women in particular, need to raise £1,350 each to support Children's Hospices UK.

Fortunately, they don't have to pedal across the English Channel, they're allowed to take their bicycles on the ferry to Dieppe.
