I WOULD like to voice my opinion on the Forest of Dean Council's pensions 'black hole' peril.

I find the attitude that is projected by the Forest of Dean Council re their pensions problem very offensive. They expect the council tax payers to foot the bill for their pensions deficit.

Anyone who is a member of a private pension scheme has to accept any reduction or rise in their pension scheme due to interest rate variation, or increase the input out of their own pockets at the appropriate time in the case of interest reduction should they wish to obtain from their providers.

But councils prefer to extract finance out of the taxpayer to support theirs by increasing taxation or cutting services paid for by the taxpayer (breach of contract?)

I believe there is a legal name for this type of manipulation.

I think the council's entire business should be examined by external auditors and be made public.

I also believe that taxpayers in some areas should have a rebate due to non collection of waste due to weather conditions. This has been or is being paid for so the contract should have carried out. Therefore compensation should be awarded to households affected.
