HOUSING association is to make more than 200 of its tenants’ homes more energy efficient.

Improvements will include the installation of solar panels which will generate free electricity for tenants during the day.

Heat pumps and better insulation will make homes warmer in winter.

The project will be partially funded by the government’s Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund.

As part of a local consortium Two Rivers received a £4.56m grant from the fund in 2025.

It has now secured a further £650,000 to support work with Severn Wye Energy which includes assessments, technical design and advice to residents to help them make the most of the new systems.

Sam Batt, Decarbonisation Manager at Two Rivers Housing said: “We know that having a warm, safe, affordable home has a huge impact on people's health, wellbeing and quality of life. That's why we're continuing to invest in improving the energy efficiency of our homes.

“Securing the additional funding from the government means we can invest in more homes, making energy-saving improvements sooner and helping more families.

“Severn Wye has decades of experience creating energy efficient homes and offering support to people facing fuel poverty. They share our commitment to supporting local people and helping them keep their homes warm in the winter.”
