WHY is it that “Cllr” Preest always manages to write long letters to the Press, either notifying us that he has yet again changed his political allegiance, or complaining about matters that affect him personally, for example the smells from the chicken houses in Bream, where I believe he lives, yet he hasn’t the decency to answer any of my direct emails or reply to telephone calls?
Surely the Conservatives can’t be so desperate that they want him back again after asking him to leave?
Why do any of us bother to vote for any councillors? Allegedly, since 2011, more than 20 local councillors have resigned early. Why?
Is it because they find that they are effectively gagged in decision-making? Do the terms of appointment of local coun-
cillors need reviewing to enable them to properly represent their voters? What cataclysmic event happened at Lydney Town Council in 2011 to change the system?
The only councillor to show any interest in my recent concern was Mr Bill Osborne, for which I thank him.
Perhaps Mr Preest would now like to answer my “pathetic drivel” by another letter to the Press.
— G. Brown, Lydney.
