POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a collision which left a woman driver with a serious leg injury last Wednesday (November 15).

They particularly want to speak to a woman travelling in a red car who may have seen the incident on the A4136 between Nailbridge and Brierley around 11.30am, when a blue Fiat Panda careered off the road onto an embankment.

Firefighters freed the woman driver from the car and she was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

Parts of the road between the Swan in Brierley and Hawkwell lights remained shut throughout the afternoon while police investigated.
