KIMBERLEY Ashwood of Whitecroft has won a big story competition in the RSPCA bi-monthly magazine for children called Animal Action.
Kimberley, now 12, wrote a story about a long dead kitten who 'lived' in a Forest cottage and who saves a family from a dreadful house fire.
"We are delighted that she is the outright national winner, and the story has been published in Animal Action magazine this month, " said her proud parents.
She will receive a brand new laptop for her efforts.
Kimberley's 10 year-old sister, Zoe, who dad says is "a prolific and successful young writer herself", wrote a story about how she was saved from an attack by the Forest Panther by a young wild boar.
"We believe, from thousands of entries, she was runner-up in her age group, but this has yet to be
confirmed," said her father.
