NEWENT Community School and Sixth Form Centre has made an everlasting commemoration to its 50th anniversary with the planting of a tree.

School governor June Davies planted a tulip tree in the school's grounds in front of volunteers who organised the reunion, which was held in April, and invited dignitaries.
