MYSTERY surrounds the appearance of a crashed blue hatchback car, opposite the entrance to the Forest of Dean Stoneworks site in Cannop.

The car, which could not be identified, appeared over a week ago, but only sported a ‘police aware’ sticker late on Sunday. It lay on its crushed roof.

Seen by many Foresters on the commute past the lakes, the car appeared to have left the road, before hitting the bank and turning over.

Portions of the vehicle’s bodywork were strewn along the verge for several yards.

The staff at the stoneworks are baffled as to where the car could have come from, or be abandoned, as were Gloucestershire Police, who, at the time the

Review went to press, could not identify the incident.
