POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a fatal crash after the 57-year-old male driver of a Range Rover died near the A40 tunnels in Monmouth.
The A40 was closed southbound following the accident which happened when the vehicle careered off the road around 12.20am on Sunday (May 27).
A Gwent Police spokesman said: “We’re appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision that was reported to us today, Sunday, May 27.
“At approximately 12.20am, a grey Range Rover was found to have come off the road on the A40 southbound between the Gibraltar tunnels and Dingestow.
“The driver, who was 57, was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
