CHARITY will be the winner in a friendly but competitive football match to be played in Lydney on Saturday (kick off 2pm).

Ellistown FC, who ply their trade in the East Midlands County League, are the visitors to the Recreation Ground where they will play a Forest of Dean Select X1.

The Forest team has been put together by Neil Hook and Gary Hurcombe.

Neil explained: "Lydney have played Ellistown on two previous occasions, losing 9 -1 and 7- 1. They are obviously a good team so we have put together a Forest squad to meet them this time."

Profit from the game will go to the charity, Childline.
