PUPILS at St. John's-on-the-Hill School in Chepstow showed their support for the Help for Heroes charity with a sponsored walk from Tintern Abbey to the boarding house in Tutshill.
St. John's enjoys close links with the armed forces and with many of the children's parents and family members serving all over the world, the children decided to take a break from their normal weekend activities to put their best feet forward.
Parents and school staff joined the youngsters on the 10km length of Offa's Dyke path.
Mr Chris Murray, a boarding houseparent at St. John's said: "Fund raising for charity is always a popular activity at school and the children in the boarding house have worked hard to raise money for their chosen charity.
"We are delighted to have received the support of the extended St. John's community and with a sponsorship total of more than £1,000 so far.
"I would like to extend a huge thank you and well done to all involved."
