•Here are two old postcards recalling a huge fire which

destroyed saw mills at Parkend in May 1928.

The photographs were taken by well known Forest of

Dean photographer, Mr Morton. They have recently been

acquired for the Brian Clutterbuck collection and Brian

would like to find out more about the incident and

especially the location of the saw mills.
