SIX-YEAR-OLD Aimie Morton proved a cut above when she braved the shave to raise funds and help a charity.
The Harmony Twirlstars dance and baton troupe member had her lovely locks lopped off to help raise a bumper £734 for the group’s costumes and donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust.
Aimie, who goes to Forest View Primary School in Cinderford, raised £450 herself from her ‘Harmony haircut’ at Soudley Village Hall which also included an Easter egg hunt and stalls, plus refreshments and cakes.
Melanie Jennings, whose granddaughter is a troupe member, provided the trim to help the Little Princess Trust, which is a charity providing real hair wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment.
Troupe spokeswoman Hayley Thomas said: “She is a little star and a shining example; a very charitable and selfless little lady. We are all very proud of her.
“We would like to thank everyone who came and enjoyed the sunshine and give our thanks for the continued support of the local community and businesses.”
Aimie’s elder sister Faye is also a member of the Cinderford-based Twirlstars, who number more than 30 girls aged four and over.
