A CHEPSTOW woman is leading a campaign to introduce ‘random acts of kindness’ aimed at homeless people this Easter.

Claire Day, founder of Street Life Sarnies, is asking for donations of small chocolate eggs or the funds with which to buy them.

Claire is asking for 130g or 140g eggs, Creme Eggs or cash before March 15 and said: “These random acts of kindness are for the homeless and vulnerable housed in Newport, Cardiff, Abergavenny, in fact all across south east Wales and in Bristol too.

“The more of these small eggs the merrier as they can easily fit into pockets and bags. If they are bigger than 140g, then they’re too big to give to rough sleepers.

“All year round we supply clothes and toiletries to hostels, refuges and rough sleepers outreach teams and during festive periods we want to remind the homeless and vulnerable that they are not alone. Any remaining funds will be used for resources such as food, socks and sleeping bags.”
