STAFF at Bells Hotel and the Forest of Dean Golf and Bowls Club say they are delighted to have received another star from the AA.

Following an inspection by the respected organisation, the hotel has been awarded three stars.

Marketing co-ordinator for the Coleford hotel Flic Jones said: "We are thrilled and are clear that this increased star rating will help boost tourism in the Forest of Dean."

The increased rating comes following a major overhaul of the hotel to improve facilities.

Ms Jones said: "While the scaffolding was in place it was hard to see chairman Clive McKeag's vision for this site but the hard work has all been worth it."

The hotel will be hosting a social and networking event for anyone connected with the tourism industry.

The early evening event takes place next Monday (July 16)
