POLICE investigating a fatal collision on the A48 at Minsterworth in January are urging the driver of a white hatchback vehicle seen close to the scene after the incident to come forward.

Officers want to speak to the driver of the vehicle, which could be a Vauxhall Astra or Volkswagen Golf, believed to have been travelling along the A48 from the direction of Gloucester at the time and may have stopped briefly at the scene.

An elderly pedestrian died after a motorcycle collided with her at around 5.15pm on Thursday, January 14.

Both the pedestrian and motorcyclist were initially taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

The 18-year-old male motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and the 82-year-old female pedestrian suffered serious injuries, which at the time were not thought to be life threatening but she died on Friday, January 22 in Southmead hospital in Bristol

Sergeant Dave Kania from Gloucestershire Roads Policing Unit said “I am urging anyone who may have seen this incident happen to come forward.

"The collision happened in the middle of evening rush hour so the road would have been very busy at the time.

“We’re particularly interested in the driver of this white hatchback, who may have seen something and could have vital information.

“Anyone who has information on this should contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision or the circumstances leading up to it is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 301 of Thursday, January 14.
