GWENT Police are appealing for information following an assault in Monmouth on Tuesday (July 26).

The offence occurred in Chippenham playing fields sometime between 10.30pm and 11pm.

The victim was pulled from behind by two males and was violently assaulted.

Both suspects are described as being white males possibly 18 to 19-years-old and around 5ft 11 in height.

One of the offenders is of a slim frame, possibly wearing tracksuit bottoms, the other male had short brown hair with a beard/moustache.
