"Awesome", the only word to describe Shauna Donnabie's 400ft plummet from the highest bungee jump in the UK.

Mum, Tracey, says the 14 year-old pupil from White Cross School, Lydney: "Couldn't scream on the way down because the air takes your breath away."

"But on the way back up, she was screaming something awesome."

Shauna took her first ever bungee jump with dad, Neil, and friend, Ben Woodhouse, from the National Diving Centre at Tidenham. Leaping from a crane suspended over the waters of the former quarry, their sponsored jump raised £627.00 for Gofal Cymru, a charity offering services and support for people experiencing mental ill-health in Wales.

"She was really nervous before the jump," says Tracey. "But after it, she and her dad were as high as kites for the next 24 hours. Now they're looking to do a free-fall helicopter bungee jump next, as well as thinking about starting to learn to dive."
