The Forest of Dean Amateur radio Society has ceased to exist as a club for a number of years due to the decline of membership in rural areas, but we have kept in contact via HF or VHF radio and also through recently developed internet programs designed solely for radio amateurs.
However, due to a resurgence of licensed amateurs in the area over the past few years, a small group of us, headed by Adrian-M3TVF, are currently meeting on a monthly basis to discuss the possibilities of initially forming the Forest of Dean Amateur Radio Group, with a view to eventually re-forming the Forest of Dean Amateur Radio Society.
We are looking for people with interests in amateur radio (licensed or not), electronics, weather satellites, space interests and anything connected with communications.
