FOREST business leaders have been signing up to a recession survival workshop organised by Forest MP Mark Harper

One of the speakers will be Mike Warburton, senior tax partner at Grant Thornton.

An expert on tax and finance, he makes regular appearances in local and national media.  Graham Hare from Lloyds TSB Commercial will also be attending to help discuss business finance.

In the second session on business support county councillor and cabinet member Julie Girling will be informing people about the support that is available from the council and Gloucestershire First.  She will be accompanied by a representative from Business Link.

Mr Harper said: "We are very lucky to have one of the country's leading experts on tax to explain some of the current challenges that companies will face and what they can do to tackle these problems.  Mike Warburton is a recognised expert on these issues.

"I am also delighted that we have Councillor Julie Girling coming to explain what the county council is doing to support businesses through Gloucestershire First.

"This will give local business people a chance to raise some of the problems that they are facing at this very difficult time and receive answers from the experts.  I hope it will be an opportunity for some stimulating discussion."

The workshop takes place on Friday 7.30am at the Conference Centre, Vantage Point Business Village, Mitcheldean.
