Please, please can anyone tell me why we have to put up with being a member of the EU?

They are taking about £50 million a day from us for the benefit of telling us what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. £50 million a day would go a long way to get us out of the financial mess that the country is in.

Up to 75 per cent of all our present laws come directly from Brussels and are incorporated into our legal system without us being able to do anything about it.

How did we land in this mess?

Because our own elected politicians did it for us without telling us what was happening, and hoped we did not notice until it was too late.

In 1972 Edward Heath pushed through Parliament the European Communities Act. This Act was not an international treaty but an Act of  Parliament deciding that it no longer was the supreme authority for lawmaking in this country. This Act was passed in conjunction with Britain applying for membership of the 'Common Market' or European Economic Community (EEC). The  public were never told about the consequences of this Act.

In 1973, and unbeknown to the British electorate, Edward Heath gave away British sovereignty of our territorial fishing waters etc, etc, etc.

During World War I my poor old dad spent four years in the Army, quite an amount of the time in the trenches. Because of who?

In World War II I spent five years in the Army, three years in North Africa and Italy. Because of who?

Now they, the Germans and their mates the French, are telling me and all of you what to do. We stuffed the Germans in two World Wars and now they are being encouraged by our politicians to stuff us
