DOES anyone know this couple standing on Blaisdon Halt in their best bib and tucker with their suitcases packed?

Liz Perry, who's writing a book about the history of Blaisdon tells the Review: "The Halt was first opened in 1929 and by the look of the couple's hair and clothes, the photo was taken in the 1930's. They look to be going somewhere special, perhaps off on their honeymoon?"

Back before the halt was closed in the 1960's, it was the main way of getting to the bright lights of Gloucester.

"I can remember eight of us girls rushing down to the halt in our stilettoes and arriving just in time. Then we'd put on our make-up on the train. Mrs Sharkey, who was the ticket collector, used to get so cross with us and used to stand on the platform shouting at us and waving the tickets around. The trains were great. They knew we'd be coming and if we were a bit late they'd wait for us."
