THERE should now be a vote of 'no confidence' in our MP

Mark Harper and the 23 Conservative district councillors

who voted, like sheep, the party line on the sale of the

Forest.

They were elected to represent all of us and this they

obviously are not doing. Are they unable to understand

that we do not want to lose our national forests?

Hopefully it is now too late for them ever to get

elected again. They have forfeited the right to our vote or

our respect. The council elections are next spring – boot

them out!

Not long ago, the Forestry Commission went around

and put boundary markers in to indicate the Statutory

Forest. Did they know something we didn't?

Maybe the ploy is to sell off everything except the

Statutory Forest, the latter being only a small part of what

is commonly understood to be the Forest. After all, they

have started the sale with 50 acres of woodland at

Newland now gone.

Should we also be asking where the Verderers stand.

We need all the help we can get for the toughest fight

ever to save our forests. Our MP, this time, is not with us.

I suspect the very powerful lords and ladies etc living

in the New Forest will successfully defend their area.
