COLEFORD Busking Festival organiser Nick Penny is seeking to recruit eight young people to form a youth committee to help with the organising and running of the 2015 event, and beyond. The new committee is to be formed from youngsters, aged 14 - 18.
Nick told the Review: "Full training will be given to those who join, in all aspects of event organisation from fund raising, licensing, health and safety, budgeting, marketing and promotion, site design, staging and production - as well as the important part of actually negotiating and booking acts.
"This is an excellent opportunity to take an active role in the community, whilst also getting some invaluable experience for their CVs along the way."
"They will have a real say in the organisation and running of all aspects of the event."
He added: "This will be a commitment of a few hours once or twice a month, in the evening, running from late September to July next year."
Applicants should send an email, detailing why they think they should be considered, and any previous experience or skills, to Nick Penny at [email protected]">[email protected].
Hopeful applicants should hurry – the closing date for applications is this Friday, August 29.
