FOLLOWING the appeal in the Review two weeks ago about the theft of Buster, the 13 week old puppy who was snatched from his owner Clive Jones as they walked on Plump Hill, a routine investigation by a dog warden found the missing dog in Newport, South Wales.
Mr Jones said: "I think it was a regular check thet they make on all the dogs on the travellers site in Newport. Buster had been microchipped and the chip-reader came up that he had been stolen. The police were called and Buster was taken to the Dog Rescue Centre in Cardiff.
"They contacted us and we went down and picked him up last Friday."
He added: "It's such great news. My wife and the kids were not really looking forward to Christmas without Buster: but right from the moment we told them he was coming home, it has put Christmas back on track.
"Their faces absolutely lit up at the news."
